Sara Asks... Why do you go to the mall?

Do you go to the mall to buy specific items, or because shopping is your hobby?

”I'm not a shopaholic, I just have no priorities.” I will explain what it means, just don’t get it wrong - it's not like I shop with my rent money... I just go to the mall with no exact items defined to buy and end up getting stuff I don’t need, while I have a list of basics I need to check off my "wants list".

I think we established by now that my closet is my favorite place in the world, and to keep that love relationship going I should kill any possible boredom that might come between us and spice things up. And how to do that? The answer is right here and it's called the mall. One accessory, hat, or pair of shoes can change the whole dynamic of my closet and my style because it would simply remind me of items I was not wearing anymore that would fit with the newbies.

It's the things you do without aim, my friend, that gives you that feeling you are trying to get out of shopping. Some people go shopping because they wanna buy an exact item from a specific store and leave, then there is that other type who have to buy something every day even if it’s nail polish, then the type of people who go out to the mall as a personal hobby and would go through every store, and finally, the person who does it when they're having a bad day - these are the people who came up with the “retail therapy" concept.

I would say that it would be so efficient to be all these people at once. How? I will tell you:

Go to the mall with something in mind that you need, and check multiple stores while looking for it. If you're going through something, don’t think about it and go into the bubble of fabrics, colors, and magic.. see I'm trying to do that for you. And for those of you who need to buy something every day, go to the market, I'm sure your fridge lacks something.

Last but not least, do whatever works for you because you will later come to a personal arrangement with your self that would just be right for you. Shopping is supposed to be fun, so have fun but read this first before going crazy.

Fashion is defined by everything; lifestyle, architecture and many other fields. In my case, fashion defines me. I analyze and look at things based on their shapes, colors and details. Being Moroccan helped me grow a great understanding of layering and accessorizing clothes. On the other hand, visiting European cities such as Paris, Milan and Barcelona nourished that same understanding of universal trends and enabled me to implement it to my own style.
